Does anyone know if these figures are comparable in size to GW Imperial Guard or Pig Iron miniatures?

They match up pretty well to Pig Iron for size and general bulk, different styles though. I can't speak to GW figures.

Personally I'd love to see LAM expand the range with regular grunts for all the "military" types.

Yes, that would be quite nice as these figs look good.
I just ordered the Alpha Team, Road Guards and one other group. I hope to get some pics of different brands of figs next to each other and post them.

Keep in mind by the way that there are two different sculptors working for LAM. Most of the PA figures are done by "Ratnik" including the Alpha Team nd are just stunning. Other sets in the range are done by someone else, almost as good, but a hair smaller in height.

I had been wondering about that. It strikes me that Lead-Adventure is a small enough company to have figs with mixed sizes.
