link Baker Company did a wildly successful Winter War KS last year. Delivery was delayed because due to the spin caster breaking down but that is now sorted. To tag on to this, Gav has created a smaller KS for various Russian trucks. |

The Winter War KS had a lot of free additions that unlocked. This one is more a chance to preorder some trucks at a discount. The latter is probably a better business model, but the former got me more interested. I imagine there is probably a sweet spot inbetween. I'm excitedly waiting to get something from my funding of the Winter War kickstarter. I've been following the updates with the broken spin caster, and feel terrible for Gav, and his posts keeping everyone up to date on this have been great. But given that there is necessarily that kind of uncertainty with these projects, both in delays, and not knowing how the sculpts will turn out, a preorder discount doesn't really excite me. I'll wait for the range to be issued. It's probably a mental illusion, as getting free stuff that unlocks is really just a deep discount on things you weren't originally intending to buy. Maybe it's more that the unlocking feels like you are funding a range, and getting rewarded if it is successful, and so you feel more invested (and with the risks, more like a micro-investor). Preordering at a discount is a fine model, but more appropriate when there are fewer risks. This isn't really criticism. This is discussion I hope is useful as other people plan kickstarters, and as Baker Company plan their future Balkan or Norwegian projects. |

I would have much preferred this Kickstarter to have started after everyone had had their pledges fullfilled. I have had a few packs of Finnish infantry, but the vast majority is still to arrive. Kickstarters are time consuming to run and I am afraid that the production of the first KS will suffer even more with this new one running. I fully understand that Gavin has had unforeseen problems producing figures, but to compound the problem this way is worrying for me, after all we are 4 months behind schedule as it is. |

So, can I buy one of these trucks now? The one shown first on the link looks like die cast metal. What is it made from. So smooth, fantastic painting if resin or metal. Right off the assembly line. |

Bobgnar, sorry mate but I think that is a computer generated image of a 3D scan. The models will be resin and metal. Fatman |
