Although I do like plastics..they seem quite poor |

PSR gives them 9's and an 8 for detail, accuracy, and casting quality, a good score for those points. Pose number and liveliness got 5's, deservedly. |

They're not too bad – at least they've got separate shields – but the weapons are terrible, and hard to replace. Incidentally, HaT's next release but one is scheduled as "Re-stock", so might just include re-runs of some hard-to-find sets

I hated the seperate shields, not one of their greatest sets, but not the worst either. |

Thanks for discussion, but it still seems to be unavailable, as disappointingly, is the Zvezda Roman auxiliary set. I hadn't realised the limited availability of these plastic sets. I'm just getting into this period in 1/72. I'm painting some Germans – Caesar, some Italeri Barbarians and a few Art Miniaturen metals. My reason for wanting the HaT Romans as enemies was mainly because they look as though they'd rank up easily. The very natural poses of Caesar Romans mean that they take up a lot of space, and the Strelets figures are a whole different sculpting style. Also the Hat figures give some mail and scale armoured figures, and I wanted a mixed look. Maybe I could put the Caeser Romans in hot water and bend the limbs to fit closer. |
