Me, friday night. Does that count?

45thdiv20 Mar 2014 11:29 a.m. PST

Yes, Friday night counts.

Scale and rules?

I know the joker ^^^ up there will be using 28mm, unknown rules though. I will be doing the same as he. :-)

Who else? Come on folks, you know to want to.

That's the spirit folks!!!

Keep it rolling. There has to be more ECW players than 4 of us.

Ghecko20 Mar 2014 8:17 p.m. PST

Had a large 28mm game last weekend – three players each side – about 20 units per side plus artillery – a good time was had by one and all.

I frequently play 15mm ECW games. Last weekend the Roundheads were badly handled by my opponents Royalists. Next weekend it will be different…

What rules were you guys using?

Simon Jackson21 Mar 2014 4:46 a.m. PST

Pike and shotte. Second time for us but we got a good game last time. I quite like the B Powder mechanics. If you get a good command role you're in the mixer straight away. Great for a cavalry charge on turn 1.

Does painting this weekend count?

45thdiv21 Mar 2014 9:55 a.m. PST

Yes, I will count painting. We are up to 7 people now.

Who else?

Doing some final play testing for the first Witchfinder General supplement this weekend. The Highlanders plan to ambush Lord Norfolk's coach and mounted escort party. The game is set just before the start of the first ECW and contains a fair bit of folklore – so I am not sure if this counts?

Elenderil21 Mar 2014 12:01 p.m. PST

I have some 2mm ECW needing painting this weekend so I'm in

We use DBR for our 15mm ECW gaming. Often these games have only one player per side, but increasingly we are playing multi-player games.

This time next year I'm hoping to say 'yes' as it's the next project – being at the reading and researching stage really doesn't count, does it?

45thdiv21 Mar 2014 6:13 p.m. PST

@sjwalker38

Yes the planning and research stage counts. I still paint the odd unit now and then.

Good luck to everyone with their games and painting this weekend.

Saurocet24 Mar 2014 6:13 a.m. PST

OK, I made progress in painting my 6mm figures.

How did the games turn out?

Our game went well, thanks Saurocet.
Lord Norfolk survived the ambush. A couple of 'Hard-Men' in his escort party saved the day.

Well…."this weekend" is THIS weekend for me! I'm playing two intro Pike and Shotte games-28mm. One on Friday night. One on Sunday afternoon. The rules look pretty fun and definitely not a brain-drain game!

Sorry for not getting back and posting how my game went.

It was pretty fun. I was winning. Then my cavalry folded on my left flank leaving a nice gap for some Scottish troops to slam into my strongest unit without any hope. It was sad. But I had a fun time and I think everyone else did as well. Our group is booking the fall for the return of ECW to the table and I am hoping to get some more cavalry painted up.

@Stickler – I really like that coach.

Steve Miller – I saw your post on your game, after action. It looks like we all had some good games.

I am looking forward to the next one, even if I have to wait until fall.

Matthew
