Primed, but as yet unpainted. Bigger versions of these pics and more from various angles here:

Thank you for looking.

That's neat. The bead might make for an interesting engine core/captive Black Hole.

Neat idea.

We used a very similar approach for the old SDD range of starships back in the 1990s. They looked great with a rainbow hued glass bead or marble.

Very neat.

I remember those SDD designs……couldn't keep my marbles in place tho'…..wrong glue!

Great looking ship.

How did you assemble? Mate the pieces, or stick the bead in the clay followed by casting.

I'm assuming the former, but I've been astounding before.

Doug

Edit: I've seen beads used as parts, and even whole ships, but this is VERY well incorporated!

Nicely done!

Thanks for the kind words all.

@TheBeast: I stuck the bead in the clay to make a space for it, then removed it and replaced it with a ball of modeling clay. When I poured the cast, the resin flowed around the area with the ball, making the cavity. I then had to trim and then assemble with CA glue.

Scratch that: meant astounded. Don't recall last time I was astounding…

@pahoota Even more impressive!

One of your best designs and executions yet, Pahoota!
