That's neat. The bead might make for an interesting engine core/captive Black Hole. |

We used a very similar approach for the old SDD range of starships back in the 1990s. They looked great with a rainbow hued glass bead or marble. |

How did you assemble? Mate the pieces, or stick the bead in the clay followed by casting. I'm assuming the former, but I've been astounding before. Doug Edit: I've seen beads used as parts, and even whole ships, but this is VERY well incorporated! |

Thanks for the kind words all. @TheBeast: I stuck the bead in the clay to make a space for it, then removed it and replaced it with a ball of modeling clay. When I poured the cast, the resin flowed around the area with the ball, making the cavity. I then had to trim and then assemble with CA glue. |
