I'm working on a 15mm Chaos-themed $40 USDk army at the moment and have the basics covered (including starting points for conversions), but am having trouble sourcing good proxies for bloodletters (and screamers, for that matter). Anyone have suggestions for suitable complete models or convertible minis? For those interested in what this will look like on the Daemon end of things, I'm using the GW 28mm equivalent (lesser) demons with conversions as necessary for the greater daemons/champions. Plaguebearers are Demonworld Goblin Mutants (DW4707A), Nurglings, Flesh Hounds, and Spawn from Khurasan (Munchers, PLA-10, Zombie Wolves MYST=202, and the large Antarctic Monster, respectively), Daemonettes also from Demonworld (Dark Elf Sisters of Blood, DW4812A), Furies will be from 15mm.co.uk (Gargoyles, 548), and Pink Horrors and Flamers also from Khurasan (Gutter Gophers, END-400, and Botanoid Plantmen, TTC-2300). |

First thing I thought of for 15mm Bloodletters would be Khurasan Space Demons, with that elongated head. You could turn the "hammerhead" things up and shave them down a touch to be the spikey horns.
No swords, though. Do they GW ones still have swords? |

Blood Dawn demons may work for bloodletters, the bases make them look small, but I believe they're man sized (and the Blood Dawn line tends to be large anyway). =59843]link Lone Gunman has some nice demons as well, including an excellent demon prince. link |

The Khurasan aliens would be perfect for Bloodletters. In 3rd edition 40000 bloodletters would often attack with only claws and bites. No weapons need be carried. |

Easy to add a sword. What rules are you using? |

The old Epic bloodletters were HUGE for 6mm. They'd work great at 15mm. Though I have no idea what the current iteration of them might look like. Nor do I know how hard they are to come by now. Just a thought. |

Thanks for all the suggestions (really like the Blood Dawn minis in general – hadn't seen them before)! I'm kind of leaning towards using the Khurasan Lhurgg guys with swords and sculpting the horns and elongated skull. Too bad a couple of the poses won't permit easy head swaps – using the Space Demon heads would be much easier than sculpting them. I'm using them for Close Quarters games, and have most of the 40Kish stuff to use or convert (cultists, marines, terminators, predators, dreadnoughts/helbrutes, rhinos)on order on in transit, and have already completed 3 traitor Leman Russ and 1 Basilisk, along with a Bloodthirster. Definitely won't be using them all at the same time – I like to have some options with each army I make. |
