Way back circa 1980-something when FASA published the [original] TRO 3025, it included LAMs. A bit later [revised] TRO 3025 was published which did not include the LAMs. At some point following that a series of Record Sheet books were published that covered 3025 issue 'Mecha.

However… the copy I have of the RS 3025 does not include LAMs which got me wondering if there were multiple RS 3025 publications ala the TRO 3025. When I lookup various LAM models on Sarna sarna.net it cites various TROs but no RS books. Comparatively, looking up a random 'Mech on Sarna and it cites both. This leads me to believe there was no RS that included LAMs.

Can anyone confirm this?

Cheers,

The Bandit

They might have been in the original Aerotech

I have only one Record Sheet book (since we never used them), but I seem to recall it having LAMs in it.
I will check it when I get home tonight.

It's probably not what you are looking for, but LAM's (including new versions of the old favorites) have been reintroduced in 3085, and possibly project Phoenix TRO's. The corresponding RS's (also available as PDF's) should have LAM record sheets.

I verified they weren't included in the original Aerotech book (no RS included in it for anything interestingly), though that is where their original rules are located. The original rules are also included in the original Compendium but that does not include RS pages for them either (no real surprise, it was a compendium…).

I'm looking specifically for the original '3025' era LAMs because I'm thinking about running a 3025 series of games, i.e. pre-Helm Memory Core discovery.

That said, I have the Project Phoenix TRO (10991) and the newest TRO I have is 3067 which pre-dates their reintroduction. They are still being reintroduced in Interstellar Operations as far as I've read but I'm unaware of any release date for that book – anyone know?

Cheers,

Sorry bit confused

Are you looking just for the record sheet or the actual stats for them?

Steve W19 Mar 2014 9:26 a.m. PST

I was just talking to our local expert from way back in the 80's, and he cant remember there ever being an official LAM sheet. It wasn't in the original set and wasn't in reinforcements , so probably never happened

Steve W,

I'm curious if there was ever a FASA record sheet put out for the original LAMs. I have the specs from the [original] TRO 3025.

The Bandit

There were no official printed record sheets for the LAM's Not in the original box set, Citytech or Aerotech. Battletech Reinforcements sets (there were 2 I believe) also did not have them.

Thanks for the confirmations guys.

To clarify, the "Mark I" LAMs introduced in TRO:3085 and Record Sheets 3085 Unabridged – The Cutting Edge served primarily in the Star League era, and are there mainly to allow for a "reseen" version of each hull form. (IWM host a pic showing all four Mk I models together here).

The only "new" LAMs designed and built after the Succession Wars Era of BattleTech are the three Spectral LAMs published in Jihad: Final Reckoning.

Actually, some of the Mk I LAMs were funded as stretch goals in last year's IWM Kickstarter project. I'm not sure what the schedule is for making these minis available to non-backers, though.

EDIT: I was checking the preview PDF for RS3085U-TCE, and it looks like the "standard" Star League and Succession Wars era LAMs may be included, too. In each case, they have a silhouette of the Mk I art on their Record Sheets, since the original art remains Unseen.

Also, the preview PDF for TRO:3085 itself includes a writeup for one of the Mk I LAMs, to show the historical context in which these models are set.

verified they weren't included in the original Aerotech book (no RS included in it for anything interestingly), though that is where their original rules are located.

Pre-filled vehicle sheets didn't show up until nearly the 90's. If you bought any of the 'tech games all you got were stat blocks and blank mech sheets. It was a real joy to have to fill in everything by hand.

The only official rules and record sheets of LAMs can be found here.

Those sheets are for the old star league era LAMs, not the jihad ones.

That file is the abridged version, based on the print version of the Record Sheet book. The unabridged edition was split into three volumes, with the LAMs put into this file. (The other two files are here and here.)

you're right. I stand corrected.
