Good to know that the USN isn't surgically removing the sense of humor in their pilots… yet.

That's not really what you'd call humorous. If anything, the pilot is understating things.

I have a co-worker who was a naval aviator. During his career, he lost three roommates, survived two airborne fires, had his plane hit by lightning (which caused his tailhook to try beating his plane's tail off), and had to land in Singapore once because his carrier left him while he was airborne.

And that's what he's told me about.
