1460, Northampton
a key battle of the Wars of the Roses. The battle took place south of the Nene in the vicinity of Delapre Abbey and within view of the Eleanor Cross.
Amidst debate about the exact location, and sporadic plans for development, sympathetic and destructive, Northampton Borough Council have put their policies out to public consultation and there is a questionnaire online

Please take the time to fill out the survey – every response stacks up to show people care about this. Hopefully you will also want to include in your comments that the site is a registered battlefield and any archaeology done should not be used as an excuse for development.
Closing date is 27th March so don't delay
Trebian has posted some good reasons why you should care link
For more about the battle, see Northampton Battlefields Society's new website
Britain's military heritage is constantly under threat – your support in completing the survey can help save Northampton battlefield.
