Can anyone point me, pun intended, to a source of inexpensive laser pointers?

Thx,
RAF

Tried using one once, our cat wiped out an entire panzer division.

Use them with caution around cats :)

Fortunately, no more felines in the house. I once had one who would run off with my 20mm modern plastic figures. The carnage was unbelievable when I finally found the remains.

The carnage was unbelievable when I finally found the remains. Of the cat?

No Zulu, the cat survived, which is more than I can say for the troopers. These were the old Esci soft plastics, very chewable. We used to run a modern merc game, and the cat was known to abduct soldiers in the middle of a firefight.

Working in the area of Laser safety, I am going to say you should limit yourself to Class 2 (Class II) lasers. Many of the cheaper ones are Class 3a (Class 3R) as it takes less quality control to make a more hazardous laser.

Here is a quick data dump od some of the CLass 2 lasers out there:

The local dollar shops have them for a dollar. Usually up at the checkout isle.

Years ago, there was a small gaming company (Scorpion something?) selling a laser line pointer: it projected a laser line, across the tabletop, instead of a point. I hold it over the top of the table, and it creates a straight laser line across the surface. It needs to be held high, the higher the better.

The company went out of business, years ago, but the laser was a product they purchased, then stuck their label on it. Not sure where to find it, but a Google search should be able to locate something like it, if interested. Cheers!

the dollar tree company carries $1 USD laser pointers in my neck of the woods

they have a red laser and an LED flashlight. Run on 3 LR25 batteries(included)

Normally have em by the registers.

How many you need?

A laser for hanging pictures or laser level, displays that line.
