Tapping the brain trust here, does anyone know what the explosive charge inside a German SC50 would have looked like? Preferably with an image link if possible, or at least a description. Question inspired by an info request on one of the webcomics I read: gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1328 |

check out at ~10:20 on this YouTube link edit
upon review it doesn't look to answer the question, but still a fun series to watch. |

Is this helpful? – link Or this? – link Not seeing any pics of the actual charge, but lots of the various parts (and who knew people collected bomb fuses?!). Doug |

Just a solid mass. It was poured in as a semi-liquid, AFAIK. UK bomb clearance steamed the explosive filler out. Cast TNT or Trialen, anyhow. Powdered Amatol is actually compressed, so it looks fairly solid. See link for TNT melting. |
