Beautiful figures and terrain and sounds like a fun scenario. But you've absolutely sold me on Not using British Grenadier. That small of a battle and it takes two real people days!? I like much faster rules than that.

But, hey, to each their own and clearly a lot of people like the rules. I'll stick with my rules of choice for the era (Rank and File from Crusader). Or, Eric Burgess' Guns of Liberty. You'd be done with your game and planning the next one with either one of those sets.

I might adapt the scenario or something like it one day though.

What a fantastic write-up, with wonderful figures.

Cheers for the comments guys,

EMW I think it is a case of horses for courses, we are lucky in having a permanent set up, there is no rush to finish, its as much a social event as anything. With a fish and chip supper and some pretty random conversations I'm surprised we got that much done. The disruption point system used in the rules does make things last longer as all hits are not automatically casualties, but I think it gives it a nice period feel.

There are just over 850 28mm figs on the table, I wouldn't really call that a "small game" !

I'll check out the sets you use, might be able to borrow some ideas from it. Cheers for looking.

Giles, if thats yourself from the Tarleton's Quarter blog, thats high praise indeed, your blog was a massive inspiration for our AWI project when we started it a few years ago.

Thanks for the comment.

Ken – a splendid write-up and terrific pics. The cow wandering between the lines reminds me of that scene in the film "Shenandoah"!
