I wrote up the battle report from the Cold Was Convention Muskets and Tomahawk Campaign Tournament. Great fun had by all as the French and British teams fought the opening battles of the French and Indian War in the Ohio River Valley, here is the link,

Enjoy.

I came by that tournament and chatted with some of the players-- excellent chaps all! I wanted to find the organizer and compliment him on his fabulous boards, so if that was you, Tom, GREAT WORK! Every one of the tables was a gem.

I did want to ask where the trees were from. They were especially nice and have prompted me to finally upgrade all the woods I have to make them look as nice as yours were. Thanks for any help!

I'd also like to add that I was going on about how nice the scenery in the tournament was to all my buddies who couldn't make it to CW. Now I can show them! Thanks again!

Yep, Keegan was the organizer, the terrain constructor, and generally all around nice guy.

It was a fun time, and now I have to paint up a force because Tom is gonna do this again at Historicon as far as I now.

Thanks guys for the comments. I thoroughly enjoyed building the boards and organizing this event and I will do it again. Plan is for HISTORICON.

@Nazrat most of the trees I ordered from Scenic Express. They are a railroad hobby supplier. I bought several sets of trees in bulk so they were cheap when you buy them that way. I then cut out some MDF bases in generally either 4"x6" or 6"x8" ovalish (is that a word?) shapes and glued the trees to these bases and then put glue and sand on the MDF let that dry then painted the base brown and then highlighted them. Followed this up with some bushes and fallen timbers (read that as twigs from the yard)

There are also some tree stands that are from the Architects of War terrain. They make some really great stuff, but I could never afford to do all those trees that way. I got some of their hedge row and tree stand pieces.

Cool. Thanks for the info (and I have already ordered from SE in the past so I should have known…). I'll look forward to seeing your tables for the H'Con event you'll be running and I'm sure I'll be equally impressed!

Hey I've also been asked to open up the campaign to other players world wide. So if anyone is interested in playing their M&T games in concert with this campaign then let me know. Simply follow the rules for the Ohio River Valley Campaign that I posted for Cold Wars, send in the results to me and I will add your and your opponents names and add your scores to the campaign map.
