All,
GM event registration opens tomorrow – 17 March – for Historicon 2014! We had just a bit less than 500 events for Historicon 2013, not counting the Hobby University, Seminars or Tournaments. Let's see if we can do even better this year!
This year we're using the new HMGS Registration System for our events registration. You can register your events by going to link
Note that we're in transition from one website to another; so if you go to the old historicon.org website you'll be guided back to the main Historicon page in the new system; once there if you look at the Historicon menu item on the left side of the screen, you'll see a link to GM Information; this is where I directed you in the preceding paragraph.
Please note, per the instructions on link that you'll need to log in, in order to register your event. These instructions further explain just how to confirm your membership and how to use the appropriate (member or non-member) GM event submission form.
If you encounter problems on the website PLEASE use the contact form at link (the link also appears in the upper right corner of each web page just above the "Sign In" block) to get help using the website.
As in the past, GMs presenting events at Historicon 2014 are eligible for free admission if they meet three criteria:
1) The event is registered no later than midnight on 21 April 2014 (that is, midnight between 21 and 22 April).
2) The GM presents at least 16 gamer-hours of events. For example, a 4-player event that lasts 4 hours is 16 gamer-hours long. So is a 2-hour event with 8 players. Several events may be combined to meet this minimum, e.g. you could run two 2-hour events, each with 4 players.
3) The GM is a member in good standing of a recognized HMGS organization (e.g. HMGS, inc. – formerly known as East, Great Lakes, or other HMGS organizations) and is STILL a member in good standing as of 20 July 2014 (i.e. the end of Historicon 2014).
I can't speak for the other organizations but for HMGS, inc. (formerly East), to create or renew your membership you can go to hmgs.site-ym.com, log in and click on the Join HMGS link on that page. Remember – when you renew your membership it's simply extended by a year from its former expiration date so you lose nothing (other than the bank interest on your $25 USD, which IMHO is well balanced by the peace of mind you get from knowing your HMGS membership is current) by renewing early!
If you have questions regarding Historicon 2014 events registration you can contact us directly at our e-mail addresses below or on this forum.
If you have questions regarding your HMGS membership please contact Mike Fijalka, the HMGS Secretary, at membership@hmgs.org.
We will all respond to your questions as quickly as possible.
Tx!
