Almost the right size. Thanks for the effort, though. |

I thought ESCI did one, but if re-released by Italeri it probably is about $20. USD Maybe resin? |

What you might want if you're doing Aussies, is the Airfix hedgehog Matilda II and just leave off the spigot mortars link That way you'll have some suitable decals including the red wading lines on the side of the suspension. I just got 2 and plan on using the Matador Frog /CS tank conversion kits. link Airfix is a 1/76 kit and not nearly as nice as the ESCI Matilda, but the conversion kit is designed for the Airfix model. |

Ours are 20mm (1/76 ) but larger than the SHQ. Resin fast build & both the Mk1 & Mk2 are £8.50 GBP each or 3 for £24.00 GBP Ian ( 20mmZone & Shell Hole ) |

I know of no 1/72 scale matilda 1 kit, MMs and skytrex did/do one in 1/76. Altaya do a premade matilda 2 in a lovely Chaunter scheme in 1/72, the esci/italeri matilda is a pig of a kit to build. If you can overcome your aversion to 1/76 I'd recommend the Airfix kit its a very nice kit for its vintage. Fujimi made one as well though I can't vouch for its ease of assembly. I'm sure there are heaps of resin/white metal Matildas out there. I'd also ask the likely use for your matildas, BEF matilda IIs have a very distinctive look that I've yet to see in kit form. link |

My brother built most of the tanks back in the day. About a dozen of the Fujimi Matilda IIs (and half a dozen Airfix). Don't recall the one or two I built as being too awful or him saying anything about it either. On the other hand, as may be seen on the Airfix Churchill thread from a week or so ago, we weren't too put of by that either. Then again, memories can blur
