Hi, greetings from Rocketgames! I am here to present "Last Saga", our first launch, which seeks to provide an interesting tactical wargame oriented to tournaments. Easy and fun to play, but with a wide range of possibilities, the game sets up skirmishes in a sci-fi environment, where battle forces struggle for objectives to accomplish.

Our objective is to launch a crowfunding campaign through Kickstarter to finance the production of the first starter-sets. We have also planned more ideas to go adding with the campaign growth. Here I share a few images of our work until present time: These are the concept arts of the first human units contained in the starter-set.
A few of the 3D renders, the paramedic girl and the fusilier.
And finally our first 3D print!
Hope you like them! You can see additional works in the following links: Facebook -> link Imgur -> lenwean.imgur.com Pinterest -> link Any questions or additional information, we will gladly answer via email (info@rocketgames.co.uk), via private message in our Facebook page, or in this post of course! Thank you very much!

Near future or hard scifi?

TwinMirror17 Mar 2014 8:00 a.m. PST

Will there be aliens? And if so, I hope they'll be sculpted in the same realsitic style – there's a tendency among certain companies to make cartoony aliens at the moment that tends to look off compared to their more realistically sculpted humans.

Lenwean18 Mar 2014 12:10 p.m. PST

Hi all! Thanks for you comments!

We are working hard for the release of the beta version of the rulebook, so apologies for any delays on our answers.

About the size, our miniatures are similar to the ones of other companies like G.o.T. or Infinity.

Near future or hard sci-fi? Last Saga takes place in a far future, so maybe it's close to hard sci-fi, but we think mec troopers are cool and maybe they don't fit scientifical rigor.

And finally, our aliens will keep the same realistic look. We want them to be part of the world, with a solid and real aspect. Here you can see a first test of the look we want aliens of one of the factions to have.

Please leave any more questions you may have.

Greetings!

I've been paying attention to this for the past couple of days when I accidentally founds this via google search.

For the most part, I am impressed. It's SciFi that is not bogged down with spandex and lame aesthetics.

The Guy's face looks like a stereotypical high school jock QB. :D

Love the look of the medic and the subtle Cyber punk look. I hope you develop more minis like that with character and artistic sake.

like the look of the alien, except that part of the forehead, looks like stone that has been chiseled. Perhaps it will look different in it's 3D form, but doesn't look right from my point of view.

How far in the future does the game take place?

Will you have any art up soon? Cities, battles, etc.

tnjrp19 Mar 2014 3:08 a.m. PST

@Rocketgames: you're aware that KS is basically only for projects originating in UK and USA only, right? I assume you're another Spanish ca. 28mm scale miniatures producing company so you'll need a workaround for those limitations.

Anyhow, as to the proposed product, your humans look nice enough if not hugely inspired and assuming the size is as promised they are definitely usable. The paramedic in particular, there is a certain dearth of scifi civilians especially now Antenociti's going off that market niche.

The space fantasy alien is pants unfortunately.

Lfseeney19 Mar 2014 9:40 p.m. PST

More info about the rules would be great.

Lenwean25 Mar 2014 8:51 a.m. PST

Hi @ll!

We keep pushing forward to offer as soon as possible an english version of the beta rules. I'll take a risk and say that in about a week will be available a printable version.

About the size of our minis, you can see a comparative photo of our paramedic girl with other miniatures from other games in our imgur gallery. Here it is.

Also, the new designs for the Kickstarter project aliens are being done. As soon as they are ready, you will see them. I have taken a peek to them and they look superb, even on a very early stage.

Finally, we are finishing the background history of "Last Saga". We want to make sure we create a solid and palpable ambience, so we will provide enough information about the world via short stories, arts and battle logs.

Greetings and thanks for your comments!

CzarBLood25 Mar 2014 10:18 a.m. PST

will this be a game where I design my forces from the ground up , or will there be factions I have to choose from?

Is it open ended , so aliens and humans cna mix in a force?

thanks?

Dawkins25 Mar 2014 3:38 p.m. PST

Will the rules be a point system like standard war games, or are forces fixed with a certain amount of units?

Mercs has forces fixed with a certain amount of units and makes it a bit drab after several games.

Lenwean17 Apr 2014 2:40 p.m. PST

Hi all!

Have been a few days of hard work, but finally we have the beta version of the manual, to receive opinions and critics that give us valuable information to improve the game. The Spanish version is available for download in the next link:

PDF link

The English version is being corrected and will be available as soon as possible.

You can leave your thoughts in our dedicated email: rules_ls@rocketgames.co.uk

Also we want to share the first concept from the Uruhvel faction. This is an Advanced Unit, and will be equipped with some sort of organic weapon.

Finally, the Phantom is almost done, here you have the 3d render. Only a few details more and will be finished!

Remember to visit our Facebook page link for more updates!

Dawkins: Yes, it is a point system war game!
CzarBLood: There will be factions to choose from and design your force, but mixing will not be allowed.

Thanks for your comments!

Greetings!

Hi @ll!
There is our latest concept art: the Dragon! Top unit in The Council forces, this android brings havoc in enemy lines.

Also, our Kickstarter project is near, we keep pushing hard!

More details as usual in our FB page: link

Thank you very much!

Now we have a launch date !!

Friday May 16th, the 30-Days campaign will begin where, with your support, we hope to make "Last Saga" a reality.

Our target is to successfully get funding to complete the 3D models for the starter packs for the factions: The Council and Uruhvel; their consequent 3D prints, and the necessary copies to provide our backers with the miniatures composing our game.

We wish that our proposal is of your pleasure, thank you very much for your support and interest!

Well and good. Still not liking your "dark elves in spaaace!" but might pitch in for the human faction. Hopefully you'll get the English version of the rules out soon as well.

On a related note, there is also this:

While I'm always on the lookout for a new rules set, I think the market is pretty well saturated with enough variety and don't see another set making any viable in-road to be worth investing in.
Blasters and Bulkheads
Swatters
GRUNTZ
Fireteam Andromeda
Infinity
Warzone Resurrection
Strike Legion Platoon Leader
Alien Squad Leader
WH40K
And these are just the ones I can list off the top of my head. I own them all except Warzone Resurrection as I prefer and own 1st edition Warzone…
So, not to be knocking your efforts at all, but what are your rules bringing to the tabletop that will lure players to your system?

Lenwean18 May 2014 3:09 p.m. PST

Hello! We started the campaign…and got funded two hours ago! That was AMAZING.

You can check our project and it progress right on the link --> kck.st/1n5kzVF

Thanks for your support!!

@Capt Flash The beta version of the manual is available now in English --> PDF link

About our system, mainly, we want the games focus on the mission. Because of that, gameplay have been developed to be fast paced and agile, trying not to lose sight of the objective with continuous rolls or checks to the rules. As a beta version, you can get a good idea of the system from the manual, but we plan to start adding corrections shortly, and to expand the missions section as the important part it is, the core of Last Saga. Also, in the next days, we will provide materials for game testing. Hope this helps!

Thank you very much!!

Lenwean08 Jun 2014 6:07 p.m. PST

Hello everyone!

Last Saga enters his final week! You can check the project here -> kck.st/1n5kzVF

Summarizing all the accomplished up to the present, thanks to all the amazing support we received from our backers:

Four factions! To the initial ones, The Council and Uruhvel, now are available as eligible starter packs Raiders of Saanar and Sovereign Empire. Also, the next faction starter pack is near, featuring the amazing Guardians of Tanaor.

Various additional units have been unlocked, as reinforcements for the starter packs, weapon options for the existing models or additional miniatures for the pledge levels. Also we will compile a Digital Artbook with all the concepts released during the campaign, with notations, fluff, etc. to reward all our backers no matter their contribution.

There I leave our latest advances:

The 3D render of the Dragon, work in progress, close to a Fusilier, both from The Council combat forces:

A running Fusilier:

And some works on the Sovereign Empire, sculpted in the traditional way by Mati:

Hope you like it! Thank you very much!

Albino Squirrel12 Jun 2014 12:42 p.m. PST

Has anyone tried out the rules? I think there are some really good concepts in there, but I haven't had a chance to actually try them out.

Amazing "Battle Report" by Albino Squirrel. Thank you very much!! -> link

Also, thanks to the amazing support of our backers, we unlocked a new stretch goal!

Lion in the Stars15 Jun 2014 10:21 a.m. PST

Jeez, I really wish I had some $$ to send your way!

I can guarantee that I will buy some of those minis in the future, though. I can always use the 'aliens' as Morlock troopers in Infinity, and the rest of the human troops look great.

Is there any chance of civilian models getting made?

Lenwean17 Dec 2014 5:04 a.m. PST

We finally have the first metal castings for Last Saga miniatures! You can check them in our last update:

The pre-order time of the post campaign is coming to its end! Thursday 18th will be the last day when the miniatures addons will be available, as we need to start with the production.

Hope you like!

@Lion: we made a civilian and others will come, to support the missions that use them.
