Thanks for posting Jeff A lot of these are the same as the ones in my Dad's photo album. He was on the Victorious from 1944 onwards and saw action during Operation Tungsten (he's just received his Arctic Star for that) and then in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific as part of the Eastern an British Pacific fleets respectively. Talking of photos here's one I believe to be of one of the kamikazes that hit the Victorious in May 1945 – I take my hat off to whoever caught that on camera!

British had armored fight decks which helped reduce the damage done by kamikazes. Great photos. |
