It looks like a certain WWII tank, but I can't quite put my finger on it…..

Matilda was a duck, and the Infantry tanks waddled like a duck, or so the troops thought, hence the name.

That's a fine looking model, as are all the Imperial Guard substitutes they make. They are matching GW price for price, though (not that they aren't worth $5 USD an infantry model, I suppose. They are beautiful sculpts.).

What do all the nuts and bolts on the side track armour do ? Elsewhere on the tank it looks like it's welded or rivetted assembly, so the bolts are just for show ? Or ????

VonTed14 Mar 2014 8:37 a.m. PST

In the grim dark future there is only bolts (and nuts).

The side plates have to be removable for maintenance on the running gear, just link on the actual WWII Matilda. On the WWII version, the side plate were partly there as mud guards. BTW, the big "vents" are to let mud fall off of the tracks on the upper run, to keep it out of the road wheels, etc.

It reminds me or the early war experimental German tank which I think got to be seen on the streets of Norway in 1940. I think only a handful were built, and temporarily, at least, they were designated PzKpfw 5? Anyone have a photo?

nice looking tank if a bit over sized. The MG has the bore of a main gun. this photo might help for scaling the mini.

and this tank is known for being overly tall.

I'm still waiting for her to release The Comfy Chair to go with her Spanish Inquisition.

It looks good though I'm not sure 40k people would use it rather than the Leman Rus kit. Unless it was a decent bit cheaper, of course.

I would, if I played. How much is this going to be? I'm not seeing it anywhere on her website.

I think you are in danger of confusing models inspired by the "GW Hobby" with some kind of reality…
