Whew! I misread the title as Naked couples in 1972. I thought I had destroyed all those photos. |
jowady | 13 Mar 2014 2:16 p.m. PST |
Okay this part of the forum has definitely jumped the shark. YIKES! |
SpuriousMilius | 13 Mar 2014 2:19 p.m. PST |
The dude 2nd from the left appears to be "afflicted" with partial "scale creep"! |
cazador | 13 Mar 2014 2:46 p.m. PST |
OK chaps, here's a question
What possible value does this post, or this product, bring to the hobby? Go on, someone stifle me or get me DH'd

BTW, those who know me well will be aware of my admiration for the female form

Tango, fan of your postings as I am and defender of your rights to post that I am I must confess even I struggle to see the relevance and usefulness of this post. Sorry, but thats the truth as I see it. |

They are great to use as 'dollies' to sculpt over, to create that elusive, missing figure you need in your army, Regards Jim |

If I could sculpt worth a damn I'd be all over these. One can never have to many dollies. |

German manufacturers sure make some weird stuff. And they love 1/72nd scale. Is it a model railways thing? |
shades of black | 13 Mar 2014 4:00 p.m. PST |
If I remember correctly some manufacturer even did couples in very explicit close contact in 1/72. Might have been German, too. 1/72 is the second most popular scale for military miniatures. It is not a model railway thing, that would be 1/87. I think these minis might be usefull for dollies or as reference for sculpting. |
jowady | 13 Mar 2014 4:05 p.m. PST |
1/72nd is a modelling scale most popular for ( but not limited to) model aircraft. That being said why you would want these figures standing in front of a Ju-88 is beyond me. |
Brian Smaller | 13 Mar 2014 4:37 p.m. PST |
I think these minis might be usefull for dollies or as reference for sculpting. or for gaming 'The Zombie Apocalypse at the Nudist Club'. |
GR C17 | 13 Mar 2014 4:40 p.m. PST |
As they are German and a railroad scale they are to populate a nude beach somewhere along the line. |
20thmaine | 13 Mar 2014 5:06 p.m. PST |
The first one from left could be made into medusa quite easily. I'm sure they could fit into a game
somewhere
the suggestion of nudist zombies sounds very likely
. They aren't exactly atypical for the "needs more boobies" board though, are they ? The real question is – how do 5 people represent naked couples – that's 2 couples and a spare? |
Texas Jack | 13 Mar 2014 6:29 p.m. PST |
Some couples are more progressive than others. |
jowady | 13 Mar 2014 6:52 p.m. PST |
But 1/72 is not a railroad scale. Someone decided to sculpt them and put them up for sale and simply they are what you make of them. They aren't necessarily meant for wargaming and they certainly aren't for model railroading. I don't know and as I'm not in need of naked civilians in 1/72scale it pretty much doesn't matter to me. |

Obviously, Tango's never looked through the Preiser catalog for HO figures. Wyatt |

I'm all for Tango on this even if I usually critizise him when he makes a double post of what hads already been posted here in TMP. I can see uses for the figures in some scenarios
|
Lupulus | 14 Mar 2014 4:33 a.m. PST |
Tango may be hit-and-miss when it comes to post relevancy and double posting but I don't see the problem with these. This is the miniatures page. Those are miniatures. |
OSchmidt | 14 Mar 2014 4:34 a.m. PST |
Fairoaks beat me to it. I wish they were 30mm I could use dozens for that purpose, adding details and clothes to make figures (like courtiers and servants) you just can't get. As someone else mentiond though, for 1/72nd the Walther Catalog has dozens of "Preiser" figures which are far better sculpts, much cheaper too. |
RavenscraftCybernetics | 14 Mar 2014 6:14 a.m. PST |
those make good sculpting dollies for clothing or armor. thanks for posting Aemand. |
alien BLOODY HELL surfer | 14 Mar 2014 6:18 a.m. PST |
there used to be animated miniatures for HO railways from Germany that were of couples shall we say a bit more interested in each other and a bit more amorous than these ;-p |
legatushedlius | 14 Mar 2014 7:55 a.m. PST |
I find most of Tango1's posts utterly irrelevant and annoying but this is fair enough. Useful dollies for the scale. |
Paint Pig | 14 Mar 2014 8:19 a.m. PST |
those make good sculpting dollies for clothing or armor. Do ya think? There is a lot of comment in this vein.. damn expensive dollies, and you would need to cut and file off a lot of material before you could start. The male figures would have to go "post op" before you could start sculpting on the lower portion and the female figures would need some breast and bottom reduction surgery, at the very least least nipple removal. Having metal bit jutting out from your putty is very annoying and doesn't allow free shaping of the modelling material. Useful dollies are near skeletal frames (armatures) so the armour, clothing etc can be formed from the additive process of applying putty. It's not like playing dress ups with your Barbies and Kens with lil sequined dresses and black cloth tuxes you just pop on. As they are German and a railroad scale they are to populate a nude beach somewhere along the line. Yep they are simply naked figures and pretty average ones at that from what I can tell. regards dave

I could use these for 'skyclad' celtic cultists, though they'd need moving into more dynamic poses. |
