Beautiful diorama of one of the more dramatic episodes of Waterloo.

There are some very nice dioramas on the main site – well worth checking out.

I'm assuming Hougoumont from the uniforms but does the building look Spanish?

very much so……and was it not a Light French unit that broke in through the north gate? These fellows have white lapels, plus seem to be wearing the pre Bardin (1812)coat. The defenders all show green facings, which is a bit odd for a Guards unit and the occifer wears a cocked hat, not a shako (wrong for 1815).

It is nice modelling and a very well done slide show, illustrating how the model evolved. The impression is right and, except for the French figures, the British figures and the buildings, it is well researched (grin)
