Nice enough and in my favourite scale, but i can't shake the feeling that along with military buildings there is a glut of Gothic buildings in 6mm. How about civilian structures like hospitals, shopping plazas, VTOL and other transport hubs to name a few neglected infrastructure items? Any else agree? Disagree? |

Couldn't agree more! I was thinking the other day, sometimes it seems like all the new stuff you see these days is square shaped gothic buildings. Personnaly I'd like to see something more Mega City/Judge Dredd.

yes, those would be nice . . . but some smaller city stuff would be good too. Like Rommel Twee's here ( scroll down through the vehicles ) TMP link or the stuff that Javelin is working on. |

I agree. Maybe I should do a city range as well as my colony range? They remind me of these:

Brigade Models has several 6mm "desert" buildings in their Sci-Fi range. link
Unfortunately they seem to be smaller than Michael's (Angel Barracks) buildings for KR 16. The doors appear to about half the size. Strangely enough they also sell "6mm SF Doors" in their Shapeways Store that are larger. Tim |

The DZ Commander stuff is 10mm. It might work with 6mm but it is too large for my tastes. |

Unfortunately they seem to be smaller than Michael's (Angel Barracks) buildings for KR 16. The doors appear to about half the size. Yeah, their stuff is kind of true to scale, by that a 6 foot door is 6mm tall. A building 20 feet long is 20mm long. Not quite accurate but 1mm is roughly 1 foot in 6mm.
But given that when you base a 6mm figure you add in some cases 2mm to its height you need to make things bigger than true scale to look right. At least I think so anyway. Same with width. A great many 6mm figures are 4mm wide, which equates to 4 feet wide. As such a true scale door at say 2.5mm wide looks too narrow for figures to get through. Same with vehicles, a 4 foot wide car looks daft (to me) when made 4mm wide. I think it is the difference between being right and looking right? Anyway, it is horses for courses, here is a thread about it:

Don't get me started on Gothic 6mm buildings
many model company got GW 40K Goth crap burned in their minds !? Glad to see any non-Gothic 6mm stuff. Deserts type are nice, sci-fi or historical
I'd really like to see alien stuff
Not the movie type alien
but
for a couple of examples

The Brigade buildings look OK when based as said
.I set mine on a plinth and heaped up some 'sand' around the outsides so that they look 'dug in' or set into the ground a bit
It's been said before but the buildings from the old Snapdragon range are surely missed
I passed up a chance to 'stock up' when they were at one of their last shows
big buckets of the stuff for a song
whatever happened to it? |

Yes, I'm still looking for the two bigger structures in the rear
