Hello I am looking for a painting service to complete a 28mm Bolt Action German army. I would prefer someone based in the United States for ease of shipping and such. Any recommendations? |

I highly recommend Terry Sirk. I've known him for about 12 years, and he does nice work in a timely fashion for reasonable prices. Terry Sirk 9770 Church Hill Road Mercersburg, PA 17236 777-328-9062 He does ask that you assemble and clean the figures of any flash before sending them out to him. |

does he have a website or some gallery to view his painting? |

Sorry, he has neither a website nor a gallery of which I am aware. In the past, he has painted 28mm AWI, 25mm Napoleonics, and 54mm WWII figures for me. I have never been disappointed in his work. You might consider giving him a telephone call. |

I have used Combat Painter and Friar Barb before for my 28mm WWII needs. Both are top quality painting services with good turnaround time and reasonable prices. They're both familiar with WWII colors so you won't have to painstakingly describe what colors to use. Combat Painter: TMP link Friar Barb: You can see some of his work here (scroll down to pics): TMP link Robert's not listed in the TMP painting service directory, but you can contact him at friarbarb@att.net. |

I have also used both Combat Painter and Friar Barb for my WWII projects. I've been very happy with both. Combat Painter did my British and Soviet Infantry and Friar Barb did my Waffen-SS and paras. |

I just came back from the HMGS convention "Cold Wars" in Lancaster PA. There I got back in touch with the folks from Major Objective Games. I met them previously at one of the cons while they were working on/test-playing their ruleset. They offer a painting service for various scales and eras. While at the con, I placed an order for some WWII figures. Ordering time is at three weeks right now. They are also offering free shipping on orders place in March. Their website has a nice gallery of completed work. Major Objective Games: link |

If you haven't found anyone yet Sid, email me at supremegrognard@gmail.com I do mostly 15mm, but I also paint a lot of Bolt Action WW2 stuff in 28mm and can provide you with some examples of my work. I'm also US based (in Ohio), and I try to keep my services reasonable enough for everyone to be able to afford. |

Thanks for the information and links. I am actually still researching. Some of the recommendations are out of my price point as I am really looking for tabletop quality painting rather than display quality. Thanks! |

What's the "normal" price point per mini for 28mm at s "tabletop" standard? Assuming the minis are all cleaned and together, using bolt action plastics as am example
Just wondering, thanks |

I think $7 USD USD per foot is about the going rate for a game table standard foot figure. That should get you a figure with some shadow and basic highlights. You will not get eyes done, small buckles or buttons painted, or other things like that, but clothing should have shadow and highlights and the belts and equipment should be neatly done. That is what I have gathered from my research. |

I'd cross Friarbarb off of the list. I sent an email Friday asking price, availability to paint 40 figures and turnaround time. As of now I have not had the courtesy of an email. |

I stand corrected, received an email from Robert with info I needed. |

I generally charge $4 USD-5 depending on the difficulty of the figure (IE SS would be more expensive than say Soviet,). This covers all the basic uniform parts, a light wash, some highlighting, plus sealing and basic grass flocking. Shane |
