An excellent AAR of what looks like a great game and of a relatively unusual subject! Try as I might though, I still cannot stand those awful casualty caps stuck over the heads/weapons. |

Thanks Major Bumsore, glad you liked it, even if you don't like the caps

It sounds like a bitter and bloody clash! Thanks for sharing |

I have to agree with the Major. It may amuse you to know I've purchased a T26 from Army Group North. It comes based. No, I didn't remove it from it's base. As it's part of my traveling wargames show I've used it to attach a steel plate to in order to help protect it in transit. Quite a nice little tank. And it's even put paid to some German armor. |

Thanks guys, the caps disappear quickly off the table as the most figures I have on a base is three, so they don't hang around in a firefight. @Bracken, it was bloody and bitter, right til the end and could have gone either way really. @rrobby, yes, that does amuse me! But now you see how useful bases can be! |

the caps disappear quickly off the table as the most figures I have on a base is three, There are better ways of indicating casualties than using "casualty caps". |

I know there are, but I happen to like them. |

You made a really good fist of that one :-) And that link to the Royal Surreys is the book I got from the NAM – glad you found it :-) IIRC Kampar is the closest fight of the campaign for the Surreys – hard fought, but it's an amphibious hook around that forces them out of position in the end, not the Japanese frontal attacks

More impressive greatness seen in your figures, painting, and game table. I really like what you are doing here. Well done. Courtesy of fellow TMPer (LeonAdler), you may like to try the following email address if you are still interested in supplementing your one booklet of Michael Sayce's Far East campaign publications, I am short of time and have not tried it. Good luck. hamletmodels@blueyonder.co.uk |

Thanks guys, Phil I stumbled on that link looking for background to the game! But it's a wealth of info! We'll see how we get on at Kampar in a few weeks as I'm off to France next week for a fortnight, so gaming is on hold for bit. Captain, thank you so much for the email address! I actually wrote to Hamlet Models, but have yet to get any response, so I will try emailing instead. I have actually managed to pick up three other Sayce books: one on the Japanese Campaigns, one on Wake island and one of ORBATS for the Japanese expansion, hopefully there are more for the Malaya/Singapore campaign! |
