Long time ago the 80s, some folks I knew were playing, as I remember it seems the game was about a squad of infantry from Vietnam that steps through a time portal everytime they went out on patrol sending them back in to history, I wanted to join and learn more about game but at the time I didn't have the time Figured it would be a great way to use some of my historical stuff |

Now that I have seen the cover art, it was "Time Tripper", I thought it was an RPG, but again it was a long time ago, and I didn't have the time then to learn more about it. I still like the idea of the time traveling part, might have to come with something along those lines Any ideas are welcome |

For roleplaying, they are two good supplements: - Rolemaster Time Riders: link - Gurps Time Travel: link There are probably more. As for miniature games, you might want to check out the fairly recent Dr Who miniatures game: drwhominiatures.co.uk |

Any ideas are welcome You can adapt some bits of my ruleset to your game system, if you need them; it was RPG-friendly from the beginning :) argad-bzh.fr/argad/en.html |

Thanks, imagine being thrown back into time you with your squad and finding yourself right in the middle of cannon volley fire on board a pirate ship, or on a british one or french for that matter. |

Thanks, imagine being thrown back into time you with your squad and finding yourself right in the middle of cannon volley fire on board a pirate ship, or on a british one or french for that matter I suppose it would be beyond any wargame rules: in such a situation, we would all go mad!
then, for gaming purposes, we can seek some rules system :) |

I am hoping it could be a learning tool as well as fun, then have AAR as to how it could affect the future. We have been on a kick watching movies that have been history based, last one we watched was "Zulu", of course we may have to watch the "Final Countdown" as well and figure out what things would have been if the Nimitz did join in the fight. |

Seems like there was a fantasy novel with a similar theme in which a a Vietnam era APC and a few troops were summoned by a wizard to fight a dragon. link A light but fun read. |

Okay sounds like some fun reading, see that there is a second book as well Okay my thought is to use the RPG game "Twilight 2000" mainly because I already have it, and there are many other D6 games that may adapt well |

I remember reading that novel, which I borrowed from the library. It was okay. I never read the sequel. |
