Back in the grand old days of the 80s, there was a tiny little company from Texas called Metagaming, and they put out some great games for 2.95 or so each. The Digital Rules section just got updated with two great Epub conversions (of which I only did one of), MELEE and WARPWAR.

Miniatures Potential: Melee for sure, WarpWar with some imagination and a little bit of effort.

Reading them is up to you. You can use the EPUB reader in the Mozilla browser or one of the Chrome plugins. I read them via Ibooks on the Ipad. You can upload Epubs to your Nook, or Android Tablet (any flavor). There are a few free e-reader options for Android, too. Epub is a fairly flexible, low-footprint format; that's why I like it.

I added Wizard tonight, just for grins, since Melee and Wizard go together.

I've still got all my originals of this series, including the 3 A4 books. I'm about to teach my eldest son how to play basic Melee, then introduce Wizard once he's go the hang of that – and eventually (If he takes to it, lead into the expanded rules.)
Who needs an X-box and Skyrim/Oblivion :) ?

Still have all my copies too, The Fantasy Trip was my way of playing Fantasy RPG when Pat Robertson and my folks outlawed D&D!

I really enjoyed Melee and Wizard (the basic versions) but by the time we were trying out the full sized expansions, we were pretty deeply entrenched in AD&D.
