here's some air transports I did for my Star Kingdom marines and their opponents of the Stellar Union. Star Kingdom (Rebel Minis Sabre dropship + Battletech Anhur Transport Planes from Ral Partha Europe)
Stellar Union (scratch build Tac Lifter + VT-51 SUPER BOXCAR heavy lift VTOLs from GZG)

Looking mighty fine – The GZG Super Boxcar in particular! I'm slowly converting mine to AV engines like the other model in that line s the fans look a touch "dodgy" to my eye with that hull. |

Hmmm to my eye, they look very similar to some local hose fittings ;-) Nice work

Almost. They are actually bottle caps which I cut up and glued together. There are some pics of the unpainted version in this thread here TMP link |

Good news – Iron Wind are making the Cizin Hover in metal, and if you remove the weapons turret, and build up the rear, they make a very credible AV transport! Been doing it with the Cliky plastics, but TBH the IWM looks nicer and will go into my NSL army as an up armored version for the regulars, while the plastics will be Jager units. |

I've got three Zeon Gau aircraft kits in 1/1200 scale being modified into 1/300th scale transports. The scale differences may seem dramatic, but the Gau was enormous and makes for nice transport in 1/300th scale. I'll be adding a few gun turrets, mounting sets of cylinder beads as engine nacelles on top of the wing, making a putty cockpit section, adding more tail fins, and reworking the aft end. This craft could easily transport a medium mecha, tanks, or loads of powersuit dudes. The goal is to have the SF equivalent of the old German Gigant transport, with like paint job or Italian camo colors. |
