"This Sunday, Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey debuts on Fox. Somehow, it's been 34 years since Carl Sagan and his turtleneck first piloted his Spaceship of the Imagination through the original Cosmos miniseries on PBS. Since the new series was first announced with astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson taking over as narrator for the late Sagan, we've been wondering about the difference that three decades of special-effects technology could have—and now, with this early look at the new series' visual development, we finally get our answer. From a redesigned Spaceship of the Imagination to a digitally reconstructed Library of Alexandria, the brain trust behind the series (which includes Tyson, Seth MacFarlane, and even Sagan's widow and producing partner, Ann Druyan) spared nothing in making sure the new series is as transporting and transformational as the first one was. Click through above to see the difference 35 years can make, and then tune in on Sunday night

The Library of Alexandria was one of my favorite episodes of the original Cosmos. Really looking forward to seeing the new version. |

Easy up, Jav. Seth MacFarlane was indeed the driving force behind the reemergence of Cosmos as a show/program, but he was also instrumental in bringing Carl Sagan's to the Library of Congress where they can be held for posterity. I'd say he is using his money for Good, at least in this much, wouldn't you? |

He feels guilty for rotting so many brains, like mine, with his animated shows. :) |
