I've been painting the Redoubt scalping sets, in between painting other things, and have just finished the final one of five.

And here they are all together.

That doesn't look very neighborly.

I wish that Blue Moon would include a 15mm/18mm version of these in their FIW line of figures. Richard

^^^ They are nice vignettes.

Those are nice. You could use them on a MT game for slaughter.

You inspired me so I got the ranger scalping the Indian and the fellow with the tomahawk scalping the ranger. What did you use for bases?

The Goon from the Moon02 Jul 2014 3:12 a.m. PST

I just used artist board cut to shape.
There are companies out there who do supply pre cut bases though, if that's more your thing. I can't tell you who supplies them in the States though.

I ended up using some thick cardboard and wood putty. So far it looks pretty decent I need to figure out a good way to make mud effects

The Goon from the Moon04 Jul 2014 10:43 a.m. PST

Have you tried fine sand mixed with brown emulsion paint?

TheIronPrice04 Jul 2014 2:52 p.m. PST

No I haven't. The wood putty I used is pretty gritty I was going to try paint with some water effects like the model railroaders use.

The Goon from the Moon04 Jul 2014 3:38 p.m. PST

Ahhhh yes. I want to give the Woodland Scenics water effects a go myself.

TheIronPrice04 Jul 2014 7:38 p.m. PST

I've never tried anything like it so I'll let you know how it goes.

There are very useful tutorials on you tube.
