I expect to spend some time in Lisbon in early April

Any local gamers who might like to host for an evening? I play virtually anything miniatures related.

What sights should a wargamer go and see?

St Georges Castle is worth a touristy walkaround.

If I remember correctly the Navy Museum was a good visit.

Cintra Castle is supposed to be worth a trip and I think there are near daily trips to Vimeiro battlefield too.

Sintra Castle is a day trip out of town unless you have a car. It is beautiful.

There is a nearby Moorish castle which I managed not to visit as there was not enough time on the organised day trip.

I enjoyed a short trip outside of Lisbon a small town Obidos, it was a walled medieval town, nice architecture, great restaurants, and shopping.

The military museum in Lisbon is worth a visit, the section on the Peninsula is small but the museum is worth a visit for the exhibits of the lesser known conflicts. There is a small military museum near the Busaco Monastery which is also worth a visit.

If you go to Obidos you will be next door to the battlefields of Vimeiro and Rolica.

Bom viagem!
