Are there any out there who still play Tank Charts? I found my original copy from over 30 years ago. I also found some Modern after 1945 vehicles charts that a late friend of mine took the time to type up.I have created a Facebook page in hopes of getting together some of us who still like the classic game. I was surprised at the original copies of the Modern charts my friend made. I am going to have to reorganize them and scan them. Robert |

That is the rules set which got me into minis. I actually think I got the last set sold as a replacement copy when I contacted GHQ about the rules and bought the set they were going to take to a convention which they had just found hidden somewhere. |

I still have my copy of Tank Charts. The rules are in excellent condition, too
an indication that I never used 'em very much. Got the rules in the early/mid 1980s, but was doing mostly moderns at that time. Switched my focus back to WW2 in the 1990s, and after giving up on the re-write of WRG Armor and Infantry I tried to get some Tank Charts action going, but found no takers. If you like Tank Charts, but hunger for updates, support and perhaps some improvements in the game mechanics, I strongly suggest you look at Panzer War. In conversations with the author (Mobius, who frequents this board) I recall that he mentioned that Tank Charts was one of the inspirations for the game mechanisms he created for Panzer War. In his rules you will find ALL of the detail that you had in Tank Charts, and more. His research is truly superb. He has a couple decades' more research and data checking in his stats than you will find in the Tank Charts data. So you get a far richer selection of vehicles with lots of sub-versions (just try to find a Russian T-40 light tank in Tank Charts, or the differences in turret armor between an early production M4 Sherman in Tunisia, and a mid production M4A1 Sherman in Normandie). But
the game mechanics are improved, so that you get all that delicious detail with enhanced playability! And you can't beat the cost. The Panzer War rules are free. Really. And they are supported by Mobius on his own forum. And there is a moderns version (AirLand Battle) based on the same game mechanics. And those rules are free too. Just try to beat that deal! panzer-war.com -Mark (aka: Mk 1) |

I have been downloading the Panzer War rules and it's updates for years now. I am sad to see that there isn't much support out there for Tank Charts like some others. Robert |

Thanks Mark 1. I actually got some inspiration from the guy who did a lot of the research that Tank Charts was based on, John Reynolds. He had his own set of rules called Men-in-Armor and play tested them with Brian Stokes, the TC author. In those rules each tank facing was a 10 x 10 (100) location table. The M-I-A tables came like 6 tanks per set so it took some doing to get tables for all the tanks you were going to play with. |

I think my friend the Late James Kyler did a great job on his Modern charts he created back in the early 80s. Robert |
