Not sure if its just me but I am starting to get random words in posts in blue that lead to pop up adverts

Is this a new thing n TMP?, or is it just my setup?

cheers

I got that for a while on some webpages, not now and not on TMP. Likely you have caught something like this;

Time to check your browser, and run a malwarebytes scan. Should be relatively straightforward to dispel.

No I had it too – it has nothing to do with TMP as it is an "adbot" similar to a virus that uses text to direct you to ads . It is worse then spam as it is all unsolicited and can really slow your computer down.

Don't try opting out on their site it does not help.It is a pain to get rid of I use a good anti virus, ad bloc and a Spy bot and I still got it. It came from opening up one of the sites that posters link to in their posts I don't know which one and the anti virus did not pick it up.My current malware could not find it either.

I was able to get rid of it a few days ago but I can't remember the names of the files. You need to click on one green word to bring you to one ad. There check the properties to get the name of the web site/service. Go to your cookies are and get rid of any cookies with that name.

Go to Search and then look for all files with that name . You have to include hidden files in your search Delete anything that shows up If you are not sure check the properties of the file to see installation date and if it is recent it belongs to the adbot

If the file refuses to delete itself,open it and delete as many sub files as possible to wreck the file

Maybe someone with more computer skills can give a better way.

I had that and I got rid of it my going to my add/delete programs and deleting every new program added in the last couple days, since I knew I did not add them.

YMMV

System Restore might work, also. Restore to a date before the problem started. But note, anything you installed since that date will be gone, too.
