Very nice, but I don't get a space feel. I think giving it a more ashy look would help along with some floating debris. |

looks a lot like Beggars canyon back home
You need womp rats :) |

It looks like it's coming along very well I am looking forward to seeing more of this project, keep the reports coming :-) |

looking at it again, I think if a portion of the board was painted as space and add some additional debris (mini asteroids)you would know it was an asteroid. |

DsGilbert, it's just the first coat of paint. Give me some time mate. But thanks for the ideas. I think I will add some small floating asteroids to have something to maneuver around. I had thought about some rock spires but time is against me on that. Xin |

I look forward to seeing the completed work up close at Cold Wars. Kind of making it tight on the deadline. |

No disrespect meant. I like your concept. Just thinking that it looked more like a desert canyon. Something needs to be added to make it feel like it's an asteroid in space. That's the tough thing about space battle boards. I have one that is just space and another that is the surface of the death star (trench run, etc). You have a cool concept, from my view it just needs something to make you feel like you are in space, that's why I think a portion of the board be space. Just some input. Thumbs up on what you are doing. |

Kind of making it tight on the deadline. Nothing says motivation like the word Deadline. I'll get it done. The main thing that can derail this is work. I'm critical support for a large data center
Actually coming back to this post is NOT helping. I'm looking at the pictures and I'm seeing more things I can do to improve it. Must

You know, I find myself agreeing
what if the entire center was painted like space, and then you made asteroids on little stands that matched the surrounding rock that looked like bits broken off? |
Inari7 | 03 Mar 2014 12:59 p.m. PST |
Not now but maybe in the future, cut the board in two and have a star field in the middle so it's like two asteroids near each other. The starfield will accent the fact that this is taking place in space. |

One advantage of the current setup though is that it doubles nicely for a base on a planet/planetoid. -Will |

Oh I went and did a bad thing. DsGilbert voiced something I've been feeling. It was a very empty board, despite the cool setting. So now I am carving/ Gluing/ Sanding/ Painting more stuff. Mission Creep Xin
