That is a deal. The tank model alone normally goes for $12.95 USD each at most Toy Soldier Shows. |

32 top of the line CTS Japanese as well! |
John Leahy | 02 Mar 2014 5:34 p.m. PST |
Yeah, nice tank. Smokey those are actually Marx Japanese. The CTS are much nicer sculpts. I own the Marx Japanese and Marines. Thanks, John |

Are they? Well, I ordered them anyway! :) And I got a Chi Ha. Worthless deathtrap, but it will look good on my Burma Road playset! My grandaughter is gonna be the luckiest girl on the pplanet! Yep, you are right, John! No worries. Marx Japanese are very dramatic and animated. I'm still happy! 32 Marx Japanese recasts cost about $16 USD, so I still made out! |

Yeah, there are some fun figs in that set. Airfix just recently re-released their Japanese 1/32 figs. Great figs and pretty cheap. harder plastic too. My Chi Ha is Tamiya. I want the CTS ones. BMC's Japanese are also pretty good. They are larger though. Thanks, John |

The CTS Chi-Ha is quite a bit smaller than the Tamiya 1/35th scale kit -- especially when parked side-by-side. They can operate together on the same wargame table, but the difference is noticeable. |

Although not side-by-side in these photos, you can get some idea of the scale differences between the Tamiya and CTS Chi-Ha Japanese tanks. They will work together on the same table, but probably better if at different ends of the battlefield. -- Tamiya 1/35: link -- CTS Chi-Ha: link |

Thanks, dB! My 60mm BMC Japanese will be on that Iwo Jima terrain piece, on the other side of my burma playset! (remember, my set up is just a playset, not for gaming) The CTS tank will be fine next to the smaller Airfix, Marx and Hing Fat Japanese troops. Those BMC guys are just huge, LOL! Great figures and poses, but what was King and Country thinking? (BTW, check out the BMC Japanese Morter guy
Notice how thin his heacd is? :) )
Anyhoo, 18 bucks for a tank and 32 Marx Japanese is still a great deal!
BTW, dB, is that the MPC Native Hut in that pic? Great painting job, man! Hobby Bunker has that hut, plus 10 native spear guys for like 7 bucks, BTW.
And a hint. That big palm tree, cut off the top of the trunk that sticks through the fronds, and glue on a ragged piece of cabbage palm fiber. Looks a LOT better

Yeah, I know they are smaller. They are also cheaper than my Tamiya one. I liked you Japanese pics. I had recently checked out your Soviet 54mm game too. Very cool! Thanks, John |

El Smokeyroan -- yes, that is the MPC native hut. -- Thank you for the feedback, and the suggestion on the big palm tree. -- What is "cabbage palm fiber" and where is it sold? John Leahy -- glad you enjoyed the game photos! I used to game in 15mm and 28mm, but have been getting more and more into 54mm gaming. |

Uh ih, if you don't know what cabbage palm fiber is, it means you have no cabbage palms in the back yard, I take it. :( Forget it, it's not sold, it's found on your palm tress.
:)

Sadly, the only natural fiber currently in my backyard is frozen quite solid and covered in a 3 – 4" layer of white powder. |
Smokey Roan | 04 Mar 2014 4:33 p.m. PST |
LOL! No palm trees for you then. :( |
