While waiting for my most recent Spanish Civil War order from Empress I remembered that I had a handful of the lovely Musketeer Miniatures Interwar figures, a few each of the IRA and the VBCW civilians. I thought I could paint them up and use them to bulk out the Republican Militia. However, they are really lovely figures to paint up but I don't think that they'll fit in with my Spanish Civil War collection, they are just too damned British don't you know.
I reckon I'll probably end up selling these and getting some Empress ones. More pictures and commentary on the Scrivsland Blog: link |

Your painted figures are very good – all of them in the other posts as well. Congratulations on your great work. |

They look like a city militia, give them a 'Tiznao' or truck and have a more 'affluent' unit, mobile volunteers for the Republic! I have used similar figs for my militias in 20mm
IRA and 'volunteers' lots of suits and trilbys! |

Nicely painted with a good faded look on the clothes. If you do not want these as a single unit, you could mix them into groups of more Spanish looking figs. However there were lots of folks that were just "too damned British". Strange to say as these where sculpted to be Irish :) |

If they include any armed with the MP18 (??) then they'd also be fine for Spartacists/ German irregulars in the Poland campaign

Some of these 'too damned British' Irish are sculpted with Mausers, so should work fine for Spain – or in the case of those more lightly clothed, even the Mexican Revolution. |

Thanks chaps. I'll give them a few games and see how I get on. |
