Ok guys I need abit of advice! What vallejo green to use for British WW2 armour. I've a couple of Shermans I've got part built but I've got to the stage where I need to get parts painted before I go any further. Thanks Russ |

What era? The British changed color schemes with some frequency during WWII. Damon. |

I have PSCs Fireflies and the back of the box panting guide recommends Russian Uniform, so I'll be trying that myself. |

Russian uniform is a popular favourite. |

Both these squadrons are in Russian Uniform over Black – but in rather different lighting conditions |

I would guess Russian uniform green 924 over a pale grey would brighten the green up? |

I used White Ensign Enamel SCC 15 for the Churchill's. Tamiya Nato green is a close match to the paint on the Shermans.

The sequence in this Vallejo set works well: link These are from the Air range, but there are equivalent Model range colors. Here's the brief description of application, from the back of the box:

Cheers guys I knew I could rely on my fellow TMPers. Russian uniform seem to the seems to be the most popular option. I think working up from bronze green is the way to go, so thanks guys you have certainly answered my question. Cheers Russ |

Will offer up my standard answer, a formula someone suggested ages ago and works terrific. Try a 50/50 mix of 888 Olive Grey and 924 Russian Uniform. This works very well for Commonwealth armor in Northwest Europe 44-45. Also the Vallejo mixing bottle holds two of their standard bottles nicely and you can make up a batch that will last forever. |

Why would you use Bronze Green on a Cromwell? |
