ok, so bear with me here please
I find myself having the same problems with air games that i have with sea games. I just can't do that whole pre plotted movement thing
can't wrap my head around it. For this reason, I quite like Bag the Hun by Too Fat Lardies, BUT I much prefer the "one guy one plane" type of game with, by way of example, Check Your 6. Actually I quite like Check Your 6, but just cannot get the whole pre plotted movement thing. So here is the question: What rules out there will let me play one fighter to one guy, but not have to pre plot movement? Is there a mod to CY6 or BTH? Also, I would like a ruleset that I can use for WW1, WW2 and Korea (I sure like them shiny silver jets, all classy like) Sorry for the annoying questions, total neophyte here. thanks ~Joe |

You can do 1 plane/dude with the Blue Sky series, but it's much more fun to run a flight or a whole squadron. |

oh yeah, one more thing. this may be the wrong thread, but, could 5150 fighter command by two hour wargames be used for the periods I mentioned? I haven't read them but I generally like THW products. |

Here is an amazing WWI rules set, I have played many airrules and this is the first that really makes me feel like my plane is flying. The fact that you measure movement of the plane and not counting hexes etc is fantastic. The rules them selves are eye candy, both for the fantastic painting on the model planes but also the incredable layout of the rules and all the extra material. And they are free. Try CY6 replacing the plotting with an initiative roll. Each pilot rolls D6 and adds his skill. Lowest roll moves first. Works well for solo games. Chris |

"
total neophyte here." If you feel open to something outside-the-box, you can take a peek at my (very strange and mostly unpopular
) approach. Like Blue Skies, BTH/Algy it's more fun with more aircraft, but can easily handle 1:1 player:pilot ratio. PM or email (gweirda at yahoo dot com) Don |

The Mustangs/Air Pirates system is a favorite of mine. Might be worth a look. It actually uses simultaneous written orders, but in the form of assigning 'order chits' to the airplanes, rather than writing anything down on a log. If you like 'order chit' style games like Johnny Reb and Command Decision, then Air Pirates might work for you: warflag.com/mustangs |

You can play CY6 by just moving the planes in the appropriate move order one at a time without ore plotting. Will take longer but will work fine. |
