Hi, all. I'm tinkering at a game and have a requirement for the followng list of specialized figures. The scale would be 28mm ANY idea where I can find some of these? How much money do you want to spend? Hasslefree has a nice selection of villagers, which include several of the characters you mention. Wargames Foundry, in their Vikings line, can provide more civilians (Vikings, obviously, rather than Saxons, but it will be up to you to decide if there are any discernable differences). Foundry can also provide the fat, opera-singing Viking lady. Foundry has a monk with beer keg. Gripping Beast has a nice selection of Saxons and others for this period, including monks and priests, plus all the warrior types you are likely to need. Warlord Games has a nice selection of Gaul civilians, including children, that could be painted as Saxons if you like. For flying monkeys, Eureka has what you need. |

I would suggest Foundry, North Star (Of Gods & Mortals; & Crusader Miniatures) & Heroes of the Dark Ages for starters link link link link link North Star have a good Lady Godiva & a couple of Maid Marians too, plus some Irish wolfhounds, etc Not sure what has happened to the Foundry Saxon range, they had some good civvies link Otherwise check Reaper reapermini.com for various Valkyries, Gods & other mythic critters. |

Are you looking for early Saxons or late Saxons, or it does not really matter? |

Dixon have some good 'vignette' type figures, and Heroes Of The Dark Age have some interesting figures. See here for a list of manufacturers to look at
. link And here for a review of Heroes Of The Dark Age

Can't help, but you sure got me interested in just what it is you are putting together. Have you been eating over large meals late and night and has this been affecting your dreams? I get most of it – but flying monkeys, leprechaun, fairy, and Hobbit? Sounds like an opera can very, very wrong! But fun. And it's not even April yet. |

If you are into plastics, Gripping Beast makes a set called "Dark Ages Warriors" which gives you 40 unarmoured models that can be equipped with a variety of arms: spears, javelins, axes, swords, slings or even blowing a horn. You could easily assemble many of the items on your list from that set, and being plastic they would allow for some conversions to add more character. Then again, if you are after really characterful figures, some of the Foundry metals should provide excellent options. |

Take a look at the Battleforge for hobbits link Depending on what size of fairy, look at either reaper or freebooter link link Both North Star and Reaper do excellent banshees. |

By the way, are you sure you do not need any dwarves? |

Flying monkeys??? Box of plastic gripping beast will give you all your saxon warriors. Fantasy style Norse go Foundry. |
