Hello all, Anyone have any recommendations for info on British flags for the War of Spanish Succession? I would like national and colonel's colors pre 1707. I have all kinds of info on French, Prussian, and Dutch, even all the minor countries but am having a difficult time on the British. I know about the warflag site but am wanting something to verify the flags on there or something more detailed (I really like the Hall Cds) I know about the plates available but the price per plate is a little high for me, just to get the flag info. I know about Maverick Models and the stuff looks great can anyone vouch for the accuracy of the WSS flags? Why is it so difficult to find info on British flags for the period? Thank you in advance |

Maverick's flags (All my WSS standards are from Stuart) are as accurate as any. There's not really much hard evidence, but a lot of supposition about WSS uniforms and flags in general. Inconsiderate of the colonels not to make notes
If your research turns up anything more reliable I'm sure Stuart at Maverick will be happy to hear from you and create the flags. He's a very nice chap :) Anyhow, here's some more plates for you to peruse

Nice info daubere. did the Fusiliers not carry colours or is it just that they are unknown? |

Check out Ray's blog 'Dont Throw a One'. He posts here as Yar. He has a bunch of flags for the period. |

We offer a flagsheet for these British forces, too. |
