Ladies and Gentlemen, I have the pleasure to present, free demo version of PMC 2640 ruleset: Hell on Echidna. It's a demo version of PMC 2640 rulebook, which allows you to play a few battles and see if the game's mechanics and style suit you before you decide to purchase the rulebook. Hell on Echidna contains the basic rules, guidelines on preparing the battle, statistics of a couple of units and a simple scenario. All these elements were chosen to present the game and introduce its style and theme.
But it is not al1! For PMC 2640 veterans, HoE in also mini-expansion and includes the stuff not presented in the main rulebook: new scenario, terrain generator, Battle honour (for players who runs campaign) and two new units (Tier II). You can get Hell on Echidna by clicking the clink at the bottom of the page: link Regards, Marcin G. |

Yap, suppression points systems works very well and I'm very happy with the effect. I was one of the core elements of the game which was used to build the rules round it. It allows to represent supression/battle stress/motivation, reduced morale due to losses etc. without adding pile of counters (the supperesion points dice/counters are only one obligatory counters in the game, sometimes in bigger games we use secondary counter to mark the activated units), additional rolls and overdone rules. And it leads to, let's say, "realistic" effects (as much as we may use this term in case of wargames) on the battlefield, with troops being forced to retreat under heavy fire, even without suffering losses. If we consider that the rules are very quick and fluent (the mid-size game lasts typically 1,5-3h, but number of turns quite often reach 15 or more) and scenarios are objective orientated you can use real tactics, such like slowing down enemy attacks, reatreating, regrouping, counterstrikes etc. |

Really like the two new units included here too. I havent played anything lately, but this ruleset really did it for me, and I am looking forward to playing it again soon! |

If you plan to visit Salute 2014 you can make a good deal with Brigade Models if you buy PMC 2640 and/or Platoon Leader and/or Gruntz. More details are on their web page: link BTW. I'm very proud that my ruleset stands in the line with such great and well-known wargames :) |
