"Milk Crate Ruins" Topic

Hi,

In an attempt to save some money and stay environmentally friendly, I made some ruined buildings for our 40K (and soon Infinity) games. They are made from cut up plastic milk crates, foam board, MDF board (for the bases), hot glue, plaint, and some sand. Here is a pic

I have often thought that crates would be good for ruins. Thanks for turning that into something real. Now I have seen it done I will squirrel that away for when I do a post-apoc city board.

Really good.

I have 8 of them ready to start cutting up. I got them from Wally world cheap. They also have a couple small square and rectangle basket for about a dollars each to make smaller buildings. Between both of those and two sets of the scenery from the Halo board game I have enough to build a 4x6 compound. I'll be running a bio-complex gone to hell. Using Horrorclix Aliens minis, Genestealers and Khurasian bugs vs Original Warzone Imperial Marines using Swatters. Just need to find me some decent mdf for building bases. Neither Home depot or Loews has any by me.

I ended up making four buildings and two little ones out of one crate. I am working on making a few small ones now for some 15mm terrain.

That crate tower set up is cool ;)
