It's a pretty long river. Whereabouts?

Yaotlitzin27 Feb 2014 9:25 p.m. PST

The people involved already come from NYC to Poughkeepsie, right now it looks like ill be doing in once per week at a locale in/around Poughkeepsie.

whitphoto27 Feb 2014 9:27 p.m. PST

I live just south of Poughkeepsie. Unfortunately I don't really play those periods. If you guys do anything else post again.

Yaotlitzin27 Feb 2014 9:32 p.m. PST

My rules are meant to be inclusive of Neolithic to early 18thC warfare, but I think there are a number of groups near Po'k that do other periods.

whitphoto28 Feb 2014 9:25 a.m. PST

The only group I've found plays mostly napoleonics it seems in Danbury one weekend a month. Unfortunately it seems to be always on a weekend I have to travel for work or family. The local game store doesn't seem to know anything about the gaming in the area. If you know of any other groups playing modern or sci fi I'd love to get in touch with them.

Try Dragon's Den in Poughkeepsie….mostly card games but I have seen them playing what looked like WWII and SciFi stuff. Good luck.

They only play 40k and war machine. They used to have a couple people play FoW but not any more. I was playing Dust Warfarewith my son there and they seemed amazed something else existed.

michaelk196428 Feb 2014 7:59 p.m. PST

Ps whit photo I play lots of Cold War commander

Michael, sounds good. I'm working out the logistics now (and finishing the map, think of it as a huge, sprawling wargaming Gondwana broken down into general conceptual/cultural regions that can accommodate a big number of period-specific armies…). I'll keep you updated but I'm pretty sure we'll be starting in spring after this g@ddamn snow is gone. What army were you thinking of running?

LEADHEAVEN01 Mar 2014 8:22 a.m. PST

I recently moved up to Dutchess County several months ago.
I live about two miles north of the town of Beacon.
I do belong to an existing war gaming group.
We don't get into Ancients or Renaissance but we do play a wide variety of other time periods.
The group meets once a month on Saturdays at the Military Museum located in Danbury Conn.
For instance, we will be doing a Wild West scenario at the end of March.
Several members are available to also game during the week.
I'm in the process of setting up my own gaming room.
Once its set up I'll be holding games both on Saturdsays and in the middle of the week.
If anyone is interested they can contact me on my e-mail address:

Thank you

Sounds good, Dutchess is a dusty hellhole as far as non-fantasy wargaming goes. Good luck.

I live in new hamburg leadheaven, sounds like right the corner from you. I've tried to get to the one at the museum but my weekends are just crazy. I'll shoot you an email.

Whitphoto and lead heaven I am in Mount Kisco and have lots of modern and napoleonics. Weekends day are tough for me also but would to speak to you guys offline to maybe arrange something. Michaelkneis@optonline.net

I'm in Wappingers and I play mostly 15mm Ancients and Medieval. If I was going to go to 28mm what armies are being played already?

LEADHEAVEN01 Mar 2014 3:29 p.m. PST

Hi Yaotlitzin:
Please contact me on my e-mail to discuss your upcoming plans.

One of our members reminded me he has a late Roman Army, Mongols as well as Normans and Saxons. They are all in 25/28 mm.
He also has Renaissance figures (which he'll have to dust off) also in 25/28mm.

Vinegaroon01 Mar 2014 7:25 p.m. PST

Yaotlizin you can reach me at yaskajutebe@gmail.com, hopefully ill be playing a chariot-heavy Celtic army if that's allowed.

Telegram Sam01 Mar 2014 7:54 p.m. PST
