Wow, fantastic and fun little game. I am most impressed with the mechanics and what's in the box. Pretty good starter set to get someone into tabletop wargaming. I've been playing with my son. Since he's 8 years old, we've had to make some modifications (attention span of a ferret). We count critical hits as unavoidable and ignore shields. He'd rather see more ships getting blown up and I admit it does make a faster, fun game. I wonder how hard it would be to transfer the mechanics to something ground based. |

It might be a bit difficult because the movements are really for something that can't just turn around and go a different directions. You could use it for a navel game maybe. You could just use the dice mechanics and assign movement distances I guess. |

You could use it for a navel game maybe. Something like Extra Crispy's Battlefield in a Box? I think the ship figures are too large to fit, though. |

I wasn't thinking of the movement so much as the orders dial. Are there any games where you have squad-based dials that say 'move fast' or 'tactical move' or 'assault by fire'? Put them down next to the unit, then reveal, execute all actions simultaniously. Just something I was thinking about after playing a few games. |

It's essentially a written orders game and lots of games do it. |
