Just received this from Andy Neilson Co-founder & Creative Director, King & Country about the new 60mm painted plastic figures: 'Hi Mike, good to hear from you and many thanks for the excellent review in the mag. much appreciated! At present our Alamo Mexicans still need a bit more work on them
So release has been delayed a little. However as soon as we are ready to launch I will give you all the 'gen'
promise! Until then, bear with us and all the best, Andy.' |

Interesting. Are the painted plastics going to be cheaper than the metal? I would think that labor costs will still play a big role in pricing. |

Thanks for the heads-up. The recently released plastic M4 Sherman tank is retailing cheaper in comparison to metal AFVs produced by K&C, so I hope the figures will be too. I think this could be a real shot in the arm if affordable, bringing more gamers/collectors/newbies/youngsters in to the 54mm fold. It'll be interesting to see if other manufacturers follow suit such as JJD, Thomas Gunn etc. |

The whole idea is that they will be cheaper and therefore usable as 'fill-ins' in big displays, and also a lower cost entry point for young collectors. They came into being as figures for a big diorama of the Alamo in a museum in San Antonio. |

Damn, 60mm? Wish they were 54mm. |
