The Taranis uses the latest stealth technology and is capable of launching precision air strikes in hostile territory.

Flying invisible to radar, the Taranis can be operated via satellite link from anywhere the world.

Looks like a copy of our Navy stealth drone. or at least startlingly similar:

Not a bit similar.
No British gentleman would ever park his stealth drone in a disabled parking space…

Shape is very much dictated by functipn here. Any drone that has stealth characteristics will look similar. The wing looks quite different though.

one is in "daylight grey" – the other in "night grey"

actually one has wheels and the other … well looks like a north korean fighter on its 'pegs'. rather like a magazine diecast model on its mounting base

Both the pictures in the post seem to be the same type of aircraft and both of them look quite different to that shown in the BBC clip.

That's cos in the clip it's facing the other way :-)

Yep, similar shape, as Ascent says probably very much due to having similar functional requirements. The US one looks to have either an angled or swing wing. The British one is a straight slope.

Here it is again, definitely with British RAF markings:

The pic at the top was a conceptual mock-up from some years ago of the sort you see at Farnborough airshow, etc. The actual finished (flying) prototype is in Geoff's last picture above this post. Note that the design of the intake is somewhat different from the conceptual model, with no 'overhang'.

JimDuncanUK26 Feb 2014 2:52 p.m. PST

Yup, the intake is definitely different!
