On a whim I purchased a box of the marching and command figures. They arrived this morning and they are very nice indeed. I am planning on painting up a couple of large old school style units. They can also be used Saxons and proxy Austrians. They of course are ideal for Imaginations. Anyone else using these figures ? Cheers |

Glad you like them. How does the headgear sit on the figures? Having received some pre-production samples quite a while ago, that was my main concern, the slightly elastic material making for a noticeable gap between rim and scalp (or wig). I thought it a pity at the time, for the concept of interchangeable headgear itself is brilliant! With hard plastic in 28mm of course, this shouldn't be an issue. Does anybody know when those might be released? |

I have not yet stuck the hats on. I will report back. I think the 28mm ones would sell like hot cakes. |

I tried to buy some but they went out of stock about ten seconds after the store received them. |

I have a box of each. the headgear fits very well! I had very little clean-up with mine. I see that Prussian Artillery and some Austrians are also in the pipeline from them. I waited for mine since Christmas and got them in mid January, from a German supplier (Kai Fuhrmann) and was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended if you like to do true 25mm plastic SYW. |

Out of curiosity, I've also picked up a couple of boxes of the 'marching' and 'command' figures. I think the march-action-command concept is great – if Airfix had done that with their HO/OO Napoleonics in the 1970s my whole wargaming history may have been different. HäT's interchangeable
er
hats is a good idea. The figures have nice proportions and it's a shame they've either got the grenadier caps too tall or the fusilier mitres too squat: the metal front plates to each type of headgear should be the same size
but at around 15 pence per figure one shouldn't nitpick too much! |

Hi Peter They are the same price as 10mm metal. The only problem is that there are no off the shelf artillery or cavalry available. There are some substitutes however conversion maybe be the only option. Reminds me of the time I made Napoleonic Polish infantry out of Airfix ACW figures. |

I will certainly buy some and make up fusilier regiments. I have 2 fairly large mainly revell SYW armies – Austrians/Reicharmee V Prussians. I have some spare Revell Austrian artillery boxes and some surplus Prussian infantry if you are interested. I have also used boxes from the Zvesda range. I also bought some of the metal art Minuturen figures. |

Hi Guy I am interested in the artillery. Are you in the UK? My email is mark.dudley4 at btopenworld.com Cheers |

I have some of the HaT, and some Revell refugees. HaT are the better Prussian infantry, I'd say, and the March-Action-Command format is a winner. I am actually parking them, however, having regrettably concluded that there just isn't enough 1/72d SYW around to make a project worthwhile. Lack of choice and compatibility issues mean that my preferred choice of 1/72 for SYW is still-born. 20mm really is a different scale and the figures won't mix, but Lancer Miniature's expanding range seems to, me, the best answer, and, so, my 1/72nd figures will languish unpainted for now. The HaT Prussians are unforgivingly tall. The Wodenfeld 1/72nd metals are a better size, but still tall enough to use as opposition, but only French infantry is available, no cavalry and no artillery, and the same is true of the Art Minaturen Metals. The latter do some Austrians, as I recall, but mainly manufactures seem most interested in reproducing Prussians. Redbox British and Highland infantry are relatively short. You could field them against the Wodenfeld French, which are somewhat taller, but they are obviously titchy next to the giant HaT Prussians. A fairly comprehensive range is becoming available through Lancer Miniatures in 20mm, so I am switching to that scale for this period. |

but mainly manufactures seem most interested in reproducing Prussians. Well yeah, it's the 7 years war
. a battle without Prussians is like a day without beer ;) For my part, I am delighted that these guys are 100% compatible with the Revell Austrians and as has been already said, the M-A-C format is a winner! The alternative headgear also means you have spare tricornes to fit all those left over Austrian Grenadier figures in the spares box
.. TMP link Given the 5 years it's taken to get these guys on the market, stand-ins and conversions are a must: Prussian guns can be found in Zvezda GNW Swedish artillery set with gunners converted from infantry types. If anyone knows a way to convert grenzers though

"Well yeah, it's the 7 years war
. a battle without Prussians is like a day without beer ;) " Well, a battle without enemies is rather futile. Revell Austrians are out of production, have a lot of (for me) useless action poses and, well, frankly, I'd rather have the French on the table. |

my current plan, since i'm not going to wait a few years for them to come out with the cav/artillery, Is to order some hat 1806 prussian dragoons and 1806 prussian artillery and swap the hats with tricorns when i make some grenadiers or fusiliers. |
