I just picked these up at a local antique shop. I'm not 100% convinced they're antiques but I got them for next to nothing. Any ideas? instagram.com/p/kxcBCQBrV9

I have a few of those pseudo-Renaults from a batch an old girlfriend found at a yard sale. My conclusion is that they are NOT antiques, but recent recasts. This is due to the fact that of the dozen different models in the lot, all had exactly the same metal, finish, and 'feel'. |

The mold itself was probably a vintage mold from the 20's or 30's. I actually owned one a few years back. However, the casts themselves could have been made at any time. There's no real way to tell the age of the casts, other than to judge by the patina. Here is one of the molds that was sold on ebay (not mine by the way) auction

Aha! Thank you all. Not exactly the find of the century, but the pair cost me $5 USD so I'm not complaining. Think I'm going to paint one up. |
