I have a load of Copplestone Darkest Africa German Marine and Askari figures to paint. Looking on the web the uniforms are described as khaki but look light brownish. I use Vallego model paints but can't see a straight out of the pot colour to use. Any advise on which paints to mix to to get the correct colour would be much appreciated.

I used Vallejo #988 Khaki on a platoon of Schutztruppen. I think its very close to the real deal

Washing and the sun would fade them fairly quickly, so I used Vallejo 'Dark Sand', 'Iraqi Sand' and 'Desert Yellow' to represent uniforms at different levels of fading.

Yep Vallejo 988 Khaki and then several layers of Khaki mixed with a bit of white to show highlights and weathering under the African sun.
