I've been watching TMP, Ebay, and Bartertown for 10mm OG Napoleonics to come up. They seem to be rarer than a purple squirrel. Has anyone on the board bought or sold painted 10mm Old Glory figures? What's a good price per figure? |

Anything under a dollar. The drawback with 10mm on ebay or other boards is someone is usually dumping their whole collection like I did. I sold 1200 painted Naps in 10mm for $1,200 USD that included a bunch of arty and horse. If you have the bucks you can get some deals but there is a volume issue you will run into. I have bought and sold AWI and ACW in 10mm twice each and always sold them for 50% cost of lead. I would do a WTB here and see if you get any bites. Good luck. |

Unfortunately I deal in 15mm unpainted, primarily Old Glory (19th Century Miniatures) and I can tell you that I generally pay 5-10¢ per figure shipped. Friends of mine who deal in 15mm painted typically buy and sell for 25-50¢ each, sometimes up to $1. USD Doubt that helps much regarding 10mm though
Sorry I can't help in a more useful fashion. Cheers, The Bandit |

Why don't you just get an army card and buy them direct. They are dirt cheap to start with, I can't imagine putting a project off until they come up for resale at their price. |

It's not buying on resale, it's selling when I'm done that I'm concerned with. I've come to terms that I'm going to have to buy from OG. But before I make that commitment, I need to have an idea about whether I'm going to get my investment back at the end. The math on my 15mm is pretty easy. Buy unpainted for less than 24 cents, then paint and sell for around $1.10 USD-$1.35. Math for 10mm is buy for $.10 USD and sell for ? If it's around a dollar per figure for painted, I'm good with that. Napoleonics is one of the few periods that you get your money back when you sell. ACW? Meh. Gamesworkshop? Warmaster and Man O'War-yes, the rest probably no. Micro armor, meh. Flames of War players are hating life right now. |

Grossman, How the heck did you get $1 USD a fig for painted 10mm OG strips????? I've painted over 10k x 10mm OG figs for other people and the most I've ever got was $1.50 USD per strip. Good on you though if you got that price, I can barely believe it though. Personally I find that Naps don't pay well at all, since you have to put in more work, and once you break it down on an hourly basis it hardly rises to minimum wage. That being said, Jow, I will PM you later on to discuss something else

I've been painting and selling napoleonics to keep the game fund in the black. The ball and chain and I have to chat about purchases over $50 USD of "our money" (wages), but the game fund has always been my money. If it saves a fight, the game fund is worth it and if it stops her from shopping, it's worth it's weight in gold. |

@ forwardmarch, only a small portion of the army was OG, the rest were individual figs from AIM etc panted with a good amount of detail and terrain based. I got pretty good at production line painting and would do 30 in under two hours with what I called the SOS method, a bunch of dots and dashes (dots for faces, cuffs, dashes for belts, guns, canteens) I have to admit it burned me out, I also did 1,000 ACW 10mm the same way but ended up selling them for less than $400 USD! At 55, I don't paint anything but 28mm and scratch builds-can't see well enough-probably due to painting all those 10mm link |
