Obscure armies and wars always attract me, hence my current 1866 project. However, no such project based around the campaigns in Western Germany should do without the Hanoverians. Has anyone got any ideas regarding a suitable figure for Hanoverian infantry of the Seven Weeks War in 1866? The sticking point appears to be the gaiters worn by the infantry, at least according to all the references I've come across, otherwise Austrians without greatcoats would probably do the job.

Cavalry and artillery are less of an issue as the former wore Prussian style dress.

For the infanterie and artillery is the best way to take foundry prussian… Cut off their heads an replace them with heads of french/ sardinian troops from the crimarian war.

Horse artillery are prussian crew with bavarian raupenhelm heads….

PS: i already asked to Trevor from redoupt to make from heads of minor german states inorder to reduce the beheadings but so far no luck. :))))

And austrians with greatcoates will not work…
Greetings

Thanks Rudi. I was hoping to avoid head swaps for about 100 figures!

I thought about head swapping Prussians but did the Hanovarians wear a blanket roll?

I used these images to assist with conversions in 15mm; shouldn't be too hard to find something in 28mm similar.
