Proof positive that:
A. The Perrys want me to have no money.
B. You can never stop collecting.
C. Reference A and B above; fantastic!!

I agree. People need to stop releasing new products!

They look great!

:-)

Gonsalvo15 Feb 2014 7:20 a.m. PST

Excellent. I am after the Chevau-Legers and artillery to proxy as Badeners… unless, of course, they're going to do Baden as well (which is seeming quite possible the way they are going!)

Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

Ditto, getting my weekend off to (much) a better start. thumbs up

Cheers,

Oh Lord! I can see these going on the lead pile!

Marcus Maximus15 Feb 2014 2:33 p.m. PST

Peter, there have been murmurs that Badeners are on the "to do list" as well….. ;)

KaweWeissiZadeh15 Feb 2014 3:19 p.m. PST

Division Raglowitsch here I come.

I see lead people15 Feb 2014 3:50 p.m. PST

Yes, really nice stuff. Badeners would be terrific as well Wurtemburgers and going by Alan's production of overlooked German nations from the Napoleonic period, these seem natural additions.

Alan mentiioned some time ago that he intended to do guard scout lancers and mamelukes so hopefully they sneak in at some stage as well.

I'm still hoping few a things from 1815 range such as British 28th foot, British lights marching (as opposed to that awkward at trail pose) old guard grenadiers marching in greatcoat, old guard firing line & casualties. Plus and
more British personalities and some cavalry casualties.

Always happy to see more Napoleonics released/planned by Alan..

waaslandwarrior15 Feb 2014 4:16 p.m. PST

No, not yet! Just wiat a few more months.

I'm still working on my Dutch-Belgians and Brunswick armies for 1815!

I totally agree, and would add hopes for a command pack for the Highland Light Infantry, the officers and sergeants of which, being Highlanders, wore the sash over the shoulder rather than around the waist.

One can only dream.

Scout lancers? Second??? Just when I have started sawing up ACW cavalry, with heads, overalls and arms from French Hussars…plus Greenstuff +++ to scratch build them.

Let's hope the Perrys read this. Some great suggestions here (and they did say Gendarmes d'Elite one day)

JCBJCB16 Feb 2014 7:04 a.m. PST

Still wishing for a Perry plastic legere set, or even pre-Bardin plastic infantry (unlikely, I know). Imagine all the conversions for minor states that could be done from one legere set.

For some reason, I was thinking the Bavarians were coming out in plastic, but these are great to see. I just find the plastics so much fun to build and convert.

Marcel180916 Feb 2014 9:36 a.m. PST

Bavarians are great but we NEED Baden troops (there are already lot's of Bavarians around (Front Rank, Foundry etc) but no so much good quality Badeners. So more work for the Perry's and indeed I do hope they continue on their French range, how about some Elite gendarmes (hav'nt got them in my armies since I sold my old Minifigs) and some imperial guard Engineers/sappers?

von Winterfeldt16 Feb 2014 9:41 a.m. PST

they look great – looking forward to see what the Perrys turn out next.

Duc de Brouilly16 Feb 2014 3:45 p.m. PST

Another vote for engineers of the Guard. But most of all would like Berg lancers in their Peninsular War chasseur-style uniform.

Field Marshal16 Feb 2014 5:05 p.m. PST

Yes! I have been thinking about Bavarians for a while and while the Foundry ones are nice (and Perry sculpted) I have been waiting for a complete line with some nice generals….Front Rank are too chunky for my taste…

AuvergneWargamer17 Feb 2014 9:36 a.m. PST

Mes Amis,

Wonderful but also a shame!

I've got loads (21 battalions) of Bavarian Foundry infantry of which – shame, shame – only 9 are painted!

They are really nice figures so whilst I accept that the new ones are very much better I can't really justify buying the new ones to upgrade.

However, I shall buy some mounted officers though as they were a weakness in the Foundry range.

Cheers,

Paul

mashrewba17 Feb 2014 11:48 a.m. PST

I put it to you sir that all you have is a big pile of toy soldiers -21 battalions indeed :)
I've often wondered why Foundry did their looters pack as Bavarians rather than French types -were they particularly light fingerd?

Eclipsing Binaries18 Feb 2014 9:38 a.m. PST

I am just thankful that these guys aren't doing 15/18mm Naps, or I would be REALLY skint.

Runicus Fasticus18 Feb 2014 12:48 p.m. PST

I have the Perry's on Facebook , and when this came to be mentioned, I replied at how cruel the Perry's were to us wargamers. I have just now got within sight of finishing my Saxon 1813 project and now Bavarians. I was tempted to rent my child for cosmetic testing just to build the Bavarian division of 1813 to fight beside my Saxons. The Bavarians have always been one of my most favorite Napoleonic armies of all.

Hopefully this is another big year for Napoleonics from the Perry's.

Apart from the 'wish list' I've made above, I would love to see;

Russian Uhlans
Russian horse artillery
Russian guard infantry/cossacks/artillery
Russian cavalry casualties

British rockets with crews & limbers
British medical sets like the French/Russian sets done so far
British guard & fusilier command packs

Edwulf18 Feb 2014 4:23 p.m. PST

I think they are 100% planning on releasing British rocket troops.

Fantastic.! Can you reveal your source??

I see lead people………..Helps if you have actually seen the cart during construction……….my lips are sealed.

and they have just released a British medical team with a cart for the wounded. Looks great

Edwulf & deadhed,

British rocket troops would be a must have!

The only British unit to fight at the battle of Leipzig I believe and they've got the medal from the King of Sweden to prove it!

I strongly suspect rocket troops grossly underrated. The technology was not sorted out, but they could deliver a sizeable "shell", without any of the problems of moving a massive artillery piece. The snag was the lack of accuracy.

I wonder about this. Properly set up, on a frame of whatever sort, they seemed not too bad. In an emergency, used as ground based and firing horizontally, they could (inevitably) be deflected all over the place …….

Bound to think, if science was advanced enough to produce contemporary Shrapnel shells ( as it was…let's not underestimate engineers back then), a little more work could have armed Allied artillery with a few more rockets.

Imagine d'Erlon's lads facing literally thousands of 1815 rockets. No reloading, swabbing out the barrel, push the gun back, etc etc. Just light the blue touch paper and stand back…and again….and again

Carausius21 Feb 2014 7:57 a.m. PST

They look great, I asked if they were doing them on their facebook page and a week later they revealed them. I am so excited for them to be released!

AuvergneWargamer22 Feb 2014 7:12 a.m. PST

Mes Amis,

I'm hopeless with 21st century technology but I'm hoping that the image of one of my battalions of Foundry Bavarians will be visible below.

I don't doubt that the new Perry's chaps are even better but sadly I won't be able to upgrade my Bavarians any time soon.

Cheers,

Paul

It does open and they are impressive (as is the photography). I like the blue highlighting and the pioneer is wonderful. Worried about the centre officer though…………. Are his breeches a bit too "revealing"?

Snowshoe22 Feb 2014 5:04 p.m. PST

A Bavarian division will be necessary to complete my already completed Napoleonic collection (thanks alot). Now, what we really need are some early war French Carabinier; the fellows wearing bearskins before they went all "cuirassier".

AuvergneWargamer23 Feb 2014 3:21 a.m. PST

Deadhead – please note I didn't paint or photo this battalions of Bavarian but will see if I can add some photos of some I've done.

Snowshoe – I wonder whether Grenadiers a Cheval could be used for early Carbiniers?

I'd love some Perry Bavarian limbers as their Austrian ones are fabulous!

spontoon23 Feb 2014 6:23 p.m. PST

Oh, no! I hope they don't do 1801-1807 Danes; or 1806-1810 Dutch. I would be obliged to buy large numbers of them! Bad enough they're doing 1860's British!

EMPEROR TOAD25 Feb 2014 5:08 p.m. PST

GRENADIER-GARDE, not sure if they fought in many battles but they look cool.

Snowshoe25 Feb 2014 6:40 p.m. PST

AuvergneWargamer,
"Snowshoe – I wonder whether Grenadiers a Cheval could be used for early Carbiniers?"

Good suggestion, but as with so many Napoleonic uniforms, much is similar, but critical details are not; braiding on the coats, horse furniture. I'll just have to wait, but it's ok, I've got enough in the hopper to keep me busy for some time. Besides, there are those lovely Bavarians just around the corner.
Cheers,
George
